MHO before the opening bell Tuesday said second-quarter contracts fell 35% to 764 compared with 1,172 in the year-earlier quarter. The Columbus, Ohio-based home builder said it delivered 987 homes for the quarter ended June 30, up from 853 the previous year. At quarter-end, the company's backlog of homes awaiting construction was 2,889 units with a sales value of $1.03 billion, versus 3,310 units and $1.05 billion, M/I Homes said.
