A Message From Al Gore.....

Congratulations for winning the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize . How would the world looked like if he and not Gerorge W. Bush had won the election back in 2000.....

moin jmf,

Funny. Al Gore uses twenty times more electricity than I do, and a thousand times more gasoline. He really cares a lot.

Hey, anonymous: Genau gesagt! We would only be looking at a mess of a different style than now. Ich meine, Gore would have done as well in Afghanistan as Bush in Iraq.

(The rare thing Bush did right in foreign policy is to only assist the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan instead of running in with the whole American Army as in Iraq. That might have been because he was not as cock-sure then as he became later. Gore's psychology would have sent the whole American Army, with a predictable backlash from the locals there.)

The tax laws would be much different, of course; no chance of ANY tax cuts getting past Gore! The eco-laws might actually be NO TIGHTER. A Republican Congress, which is what there was in 2000, would not have put them forward.

Gore would probably have annoyed so many voters that by 2004 there would be a newly-elected Republican president and congress majority that might still be in place now, elected with the promise to pull out Gore's troops from Afghanistan but finding they cannot do so without it all going to hell in a handbasket.

Or if Gore had somehow managed as an unpopular incumbent to win again in 2004 (perhaps taking Ohio to clinch the deal!), the Republicans would surely control congress, their electability based on their virulent howls for ending the Quagmire War!

Al Gore's carbon footprint is like 40x mine, and yet he lectures me on my lifestyle. So why should I treat him seriously?
