The interesting thing I noticed about the tickersense chart is how the volatility comes from trasnportation. Everthing else, including shelter and food is pretty stable.

There has, however, been a very big jump in food prices lately. We could be back to the theme of inflation in the things we need and deflation in the things we want but can no longer afford.

i really would like to see a simular chart where the cpi is calculated like in the uk or europe.

good that the fed lives in a core world without food and energy...
